Delete Your Account
How to delete your Izzy account, and exactly what happens to your data.
Last updated: August 5, 2026
Deletion is permanent
Deleting your account cannot be undone. Your profile, messages, location history,
activity stats and ski-buddy connections are removed and cannot be restored — not by you and
not by us. If you are the billing parent of a family, your family and the child profiles in it
are removed too. Read the rest of this page before you start.
Delete your account from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately. You do not need to contact us.
- Open the Izzy app and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap Profile in the bottom tab bar.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Profile screen.
- Tap Delete account — it sits just below Sign Out.
- Read the warning on the Delete account? prompt, then tap Continue.
- On the second prompt, Are you absolutely sure?, tap Delete my account.
Two confirmations are required on purpose — an accidental tap should not destroy an account.
You can back out at either step by tapping Cancel. Once you confirm the second
prompt, deletion runs immediately and you are signed out.
Child accounts in a family
A child account added to a family does not have a Delete account button of
its own. Child profiles are managed by the parent or guardian who created the family: they can
remove an individual child from the family roster in the app, or delete their own account —
which removes the whole family, including every child profile in it. See
What happens to your family below.
If you no longer have the app installed
You do not need to reinstall Izzy to delete your account. Email
solomon@izzywolf.com from the email address on
your Izzy account, with the subject "Delete my account".
Sending from the account's own address is how we confirm the request is really yours. If you no
longer have access to that address, write to us anyway and we will work out another way to verify
you before we delete anything — we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because
doing so would let anyone delete someone else's.
We will confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 7 days. You will get a
confirmation email when it is done.
What is deleted
The following are removed from our systems when your account is deleted:
- Your account and sign-in identity — your email address and the credentials
used to sign in, including a linked Apple or Google sign-in.
- Your profile — name, date of birth, gender, home and current city/state,
skill level, disciplines, tagline, gear colours, voice preference and every other profile field.
- Your location data — your current and recent locations, and your GPS
breadcrumb trails.
- Your activity data — daily stats and summaries (runs, vertical, speed,
distance, duration).
- Your messages — direct messages you sent and received, group and
family conversations, and resort bulletin posts. Because a direct message is a single record
shared by both people, deleting your account also removes your side of the conversation from the
other person's app.
- Your connections — ski-buddy friendships in both directions, and any users
you had blocked.
- Your Izzy conversations — transcripts of what you said to the Izzy AI
companion, and the facts Izzy had remembered about you.
- Your safety data — emergency-contact details you entered, check-in requests,
family SOS incidents you triggered, and your fall-detection settings.
- Your devices — registered devices and push-notification tokens, so we stop
being able to send you notifications.
- Your notification preferences and subscription entitlement record.
What happens to your family
Izzy families have one billing parent, and only that person can administer the family.
- If you are the billing parent: deleting your account deletes the family
itself and every child profile in it, including each child's display name and birthdate. This is
deliberate — those profiles exist because you consented to them, so withdrawing your account
withdraws that consent. Family settings, family conversations and family SOS records go with it.
- If you are an adult member of someone else's family: only your membership is
removed. Their family, and the other people in it, continue unaffected.
- If a child in your family has their own paired device login, that child's
profile data — display name and birthdate — is removed with the family. The child's sign-in
identity itself is retired separately rather than automatically, so that deleting one person's
account can never silently delete a different person's login. If you want it removed at the same
time, say so in an email to solomon@izzywolf.com and we
will do it.
What we keep, and why
We would rather tell you precisely what survives than claim a clean sweep we do not perform.
None of the items below contain your messages, your location history, your profile or your
conversations with Izzy.
- Direct-message photos and videos, for a short window. Your profile photo and
the images you posted to resort bulletins and to your family are deleted from storage along with
your account. Photos and videos you sent in direct messages are made unreadable immediately and
are erased by a sweeper that runs every few minutes, rather than in the same instant — so there
is a brief window where the file still exists on disk but nobody can open it. If you would like
written confirmation once that sweep has completed, email
solomon@izzywolf.com.
- Safety and moderation records. If another user reported your content or
behaviour to us, that report is kept as a safety record. It contains what they reported and an
internal account identifier, not your profile.
- Internal counters. A small number of internal records keyed to your account
identifier — anti-abuse rate-limit counters and daily AI-usage totals — are retained. They hold
counts and dates only: no name, no email, no location, no content.
- Your purchase and billing history at the app store. We never hold your card
details, and Apple and Google keep their own transaction records under their own policies. We
cannot delete those.
- Anything we are legally required to keep, and backups. Live data is deleted
immediately; encrypted operational backups roll off on their own schedule and are not used to
restore a deleted account.
Retention while your account is active
Some data ages out automatically even if you never delete your account:
| Data | Kept for |
| Location history | 60 days, then deleted automatically |
| Facts Izzy remembers about you | 12 months from last use |
| Location history — under-13 family members | 60 days, with a 90-day backstop sweep |
| Remembered facts — under-13 family members | 90 days |
| Fall-detection diagnostic state — under-13 family members | 90 days, then cleared |
| Voice audio sent to our AI provider | Retained by Google for up to 55 days for policy enforcement; never used to train models and never read by human reviewers |
Your subscription is separate
Deleting your Izzy account does not cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions
are billed by the App Store or Google Play, and only you can cancel them, in your Apple ID or Google
Play account settings. Cancel the subscription first, then delete the account — otherwise billing
continues on a subscription you can no longer use.
